Kate Says: I actually loved this movie. It reminds me a little of the classic horror films, in the sense that, rather than blood and guts, it relies on psychological "terror" to frighten you. And it actually creeped me out, not to mention it has a lot of "jumpy" scenes. I thought John Cusack was great in the main role, as a cynical horror-writer who doesn't actually believe in anything paranormal. He write books like 'America's 10 most haunted hotels' and when he recieves a mysterious postcard warning him not to stay in room 1408 of a certain hotel, of course he has to. Samuel L. Jackson plays the hotel manager who tries in vain to dissuade Cusack's character from spending a doomed night in the "evil f***ing room". "1408" had its humourous moments, a lot of creepy scenes and was, overall, very well done. Given the option between the theatrical ending and the director's cut ending, I actually preferred the theatrical one; it leaves you thinking a bit more whereas the director's cut just ties everything up nicely.

Leo Says: Way too funny. Crude and brilliant in the tradition of 40 year old virgin. 10/10
Kate Says: I agree with what Leo said; however, I found this movie to have a little more substance than '40 Year Old Virgin,' if you can believe that. Of course, "Knocked Up" was chock full of crude humour and whatnot, but it is essentially a story of two strangers dealing with having a child together, and I was surprised at how intelligent this movie actually was (like I said though, it definately had adequate hilarity of all sorts). I highly recommend watching this; it will have you laughing throughout and it actually has a good story too!
Zwartboek (Black Book)
Leo Says: I completely lost myself in this piece of entertainment. The blue screen stuff was extremely obvious; the acting was cheesy as hell; the script had surprisingly few holes and over all it really wasn't particularly good. However I was thoroughly entertained. 8/10 for entertainment purposes and 5/10 for quality..
"My Name Is Earl" Season Two
Kate Says: I've seen the entire first season and absolutely loved it, and from the season two episodes I have caught on TV this season does not dissapoint. This is such a hilarious, loveable show. It's 'stupid' humour, but it actually has some depth to it. Very much worth watching.
Kate Says: This is one of those films that leaves you at first wondering if you hated it or loved it...after some contemplation I have decided that I'm leaning more towards 'loved it.' The first thing people should know about this movie is that it is not an "attack of the killer bugs" horror flick. Rather, it chronicles two individuals' descent into complete, immobilizing paranoia and insanity. There's not a whole lot more I can say without giving away the movie, but if you're looking for a stylish, odd look into the paranoid psyche, this is a great watch...if you're wanting a zombie-spider slasher flick, this is not the movie you want. The acting was quite amazing, and while very strange, this film will have you thinking. If you pay attention to the symbolism, the movie is even more of a treat. Not for the squeamish, "Bug" was an impactful piece of cinematography.

Leo Says: This film is amazing, in my opinion it is one of the best car movies ever. With some pretty sweet action and tuns of style its hard not to like. 10/10
We Are Marshall
Leo Says: It has all the violence one might desire in a film of this sort. The acting soited the movie perfectly and the story was plenty fun. It's good to see hollywood producing some old school action movies again, especialy now that the leval of exeptable violence has increased. 8/10
P.S. One does not have to be a fan of the WWE to apreciate this film..
"Smallville" Season Six
"Corner Gas" Season Four
Leo Says: I expected it to be good and it was great. With a beautiful mix of dark comedy and horror this little british flick is one to be reconed with and quite frankly I am surprised it did not have a mager north american theatrical release. Well directed classic horror style with plenty of gore (though not over the top). 9.5/10
